Radon Mitigation Services

Professional. Certified. Guaranteed.

At Guardian Airworks, we specialize in radon mitigation systems designed to protect your home and your health—using the most effective and nationally recognized method: Active Soil Depressurization (ASD).

Our systems are installed in accordance with National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) standards and fully licensed through the Ohio Department of Health, ensuring the highest level of safety, compliance, and performance.

What Is Active Soil Depressurization?

Active Soil Depressurization is the gold standard for radon mitigation. It works by creating a pressure vacuum beneath your home’s foundation to prevent radon gas from entering your living space.

Here’s how it works:

  • A suction point is created beneath the concrete slab or crawlspace
  • A PVC pipe is inserted into the soil and connected to an inline radon fan
  • The fan runs continuously, drawing radon-laden air from beneath the home and safely venting it above the roofline—far from windows and openings

This system reverses the natural pressure gradient that pulls radon into your home, keeping levels safely below EPA guidelines (4.0 pCi/L).

Our Radon Mitigation Process

1. Free On-Site Evaluation

We begin with a no-obligation inspection of your property to:

  • Identify foundation type (slab, basement, crawlspace, or combination)
  • Assess existing radon levels and home layout
  • Recommend the best system configuration for optimal results

2. System Design and Planning

Each system is custom-designed to your home. We consider:

  • Number of suction points required
  • Fan size and pipe run lengths
  • Code-compliant discharge location
  • Aesthetic concerns (discreet exterior routing when possible)

All designs follow ANSI/AARST mitigation standards (RRNC and SGM-SF), the national benchmark for quality.

3. Professional Installation

Our NRPP-certified technicians will:

  • Core drill or excavate a suction pit in the slab or crawlspace
  • Install schedule-40 PVC vent piping, sealed airtight at all joints
  • Mount a radon fan (typically in attic, garage, or exterior)
  • Extend vent pipe above the roofline to exhaust radon safely
  • Seal major foundation cracks, sump lids, or floor penetrations as needed

Most systems are installed in just one day with minimal disruption to your home.

4. Post-Mitigation Testing

Once your system is running, we perform a post-installation radon test using a continuous radon monitor (CRM) or charcoal canister. We verify the system is reducing radon levels to below the EPA’s action level.

You’ll receive a final mitigation report documenting:

  • Pre- and post-mitigation radon levels
  • System specs, layout, and fan model
  • Compliance with Ohio Department of Health rules

5. Ongoing Support and Warranty

All of our systems include:

  • Manufacturer Warranty on radon fans
  • Optional system monitoring and annual service plans
